Law enforcement officials seized $250,000 worth of counterfeit “Monster Energy” motocross helmets and arrested two people at a business near Avenue Stanford Thursday morning.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Community Partnerships Bureau, Counterfeit and Piracy Enforcement Team, served a search warrant at 7 a.m. in the 28100 block of Stanford Avenue that was allegedly selling counterfeit “Monster Energy” motocross helmets through Amazon.

Approximately 1,000 counterfeit “Monster Energy” motorcycle helmets with an estimated retail value of approximately $250,000 were seized.

Not only were the helmets counterfeit “Monster Energy” products, they also contained Department of Transportation stickers indicating they met the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards minimum standards. Testing conducted by an independent laboratory determined the counterfeit helmets did not meet all of the mandated FMVSS safety standards.

  12. Dave Sanders says:

  13. Ryan Alexy did you see this?? that’s why people need to go to a legit retailer like FactoryMX.

  14. Ivan Rowbotham were these coming to Hartlepool.

  15. Fantastic I wish this happened more often.

  16. James Farley says:

Ryan, we all should take license infringement very seriously. The public safety aspects especially serious here. This was a huge assault by these these against fair commerce. While I’m a limited government kind of guy this is clearly a role the government needs to take on. Kudos to the LA County Sheriff for bringing this down.

  17. Sean Lambert says:

All helmets are made in China in one of the two factories that make them all.

  18. Dan O'Connell says:

I’m not sure why people pay so much for a helmet only to advertise a company’s product. A great gimmick for Monster and those who do it. Serious racers don’t wear anyone’s label without being paid for it.

  19. Now lets arrest all the makers of counterfit cheap chinnese light bars.

  20. Bit of a fugly thing to rip off.

  21. Now, a cheap bowling ball replacement since it’s not DOT legal.

  22. Stephen Hill says:

    Dammit, they took my helmets.

  23. KC says:

If you’re willing to pay $20 for a helmet to protect your head…. Then maybe you get what you deserve.

  24. Scott Fisher says:

    N-Style? There located right there

  25. Bill C says:

Of course they were being sold on EvilZon
