The 2017 Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival, presented by Heritage Sierra Medical Group, will offer a wide variety of rocking musical genres to the wildest Western event of the season. Bringing back old favorites and introducing new performances, the 24th annual event will feature more than 20 musical acts on five stages at William S. Hart Park, two venues in Old Town Newhall and other venues throughout the city.

Admission to the main Cowboy Festival on Saturday, April 22 and Sunday, April 23 at William S. Hart Park Event Area includes access to performances by 21 bands and artists on five different stages: Mane, Ranch House, Hart Hall, Heritage Junction and OutWest. MANE STAGE PRESENTED BY HERITAGE SIERRA MEDICAL GROUP
Feature Western, Americana and Bluegrass bands playing on the Mane Stage include award-winning Jon Chandler, Tony Furtado, Dead Winter Carpenters and The Show Ponies.

RANCH HOUSE STAGE PRESENTED BY KIND SNACKS
Festival-goers will get into the Wild West mood with the intertribal pow wow drum group Wild Horse Singers and Dancers, the certified genius and old-timey magician Pop Haydn, the gun spinning of Joey Dillon and the hilarious comedy sketches and yodeling of Sourdough Slim. In addition, folks will not want to miss the transporting tales of Joe Herrington and the authentic performance of Ballet Folklórico.

HART HALL STAGE PRESENTED BY FRONTIER TOYOTA
Don’t miss out on the classic Cowboy sounds of Carin Mari, Andy Hedges and Dave Stamey. Tom Corbett & Bill Knopf, Gary Robertson and Kristyn Harris will also bring their own Western tunes and rhymes, along with the Youth Poetry Presentation.

HERITAGE JUNCTION STAGE PRESENTED BY SOLAR CITY
Boots will get tappin’ with the heady sounds of Western bands, including Syd Masters & The Swing Riders, Run Boy Run, The Vivants and The Haunted Windchimes.

OUTWEST STAGE PRESENTED BY WELLS FARGO
New to the Cowboy Festival, this stage will feature musicians and authors interchangeably. These rough and ready performers will be John Bergstrom, Almeda Brawdshaw and the Women on the Move Trio. Western tales will be shared by the authors Andria Kidd and P.W. Conway, and many more. Also at the OutWest Stage area, the Buckaroo Book Shop will offer a common meeting place for readers and writers!

Tickets for separate performances and activities taking place on Wednesday, April 19 through Sunday, April 23 are available for purchase as well. Canyon Theatre Guild, The Main, the Rancho Camulos Museum and Hart Mansion will host intimate, sell-out performances, so be sure to purchase your tickets soon!

CANYON THEATRE GUILD

On Friday, April 21 audiences can enjoy the soul of cowboy music exposed by the melodies of the Sons of the San Joaquin and Kristyn Harris at the Canyon Theatre Guild. Individuals and groups interested in attending these performances are encouraged to buy tickets early as seats sell quickly. On Saturday, April 22, Grammy-nominated Don Edwards will take the stage, along with The Haunted Windchimes, a traditional folk and American roots band.

THE MAIN

The intimate, 81 seat theater, The Main will be highlighting Western, rockabilly, and Americana musicians and storytelling. On Wednesday, April 19 Mary Kaye and Joe Herrington will provide Western music and storytelling. On Friday, April 21 The California Feetwarmers will pay homage to ragtime, Dixieland blues and early swing. On Saturday, April 22, Rosie Flores will show off her award-winning honky-tonk and rockabilly stylings.

RANCHO CAMULOS MUSEUM

On Friday, April 21, the Rancho Camulos Musuem will be hosting Jon Chandler, the “best western songsmith since Ian Tyson,” as said by the Los Angeles Daily News. This award winning author and songwriter will highlight the afternoon at Rancho Camulos, where participants will enjoy a Southwest buffet and costumed docent-led tours of the Heritage Valley, in addition to Jon Chandler’s musical talents.

HART MANSION

On Saturday, April 22 at 8 p.m., authors Garner Palenske and Nicholas Cataldo will be bringing the history of Wyatt Earp back to the Hart Mansion.
