Yonathan Daza delivered an early bases-clearing triple and Roberto Ramos tallied three hits, as the JetHawks defeated the Visalia Rawhide for the second straight time, 7-4, on Wednesday night at The Hangar.
Daza’s triple came with two out in the second and capped a five-run frame to put the JetHawks in front for good. Earlier in the inning, Mylz Jones came through with an RBI single and Garrett Hampson drew a bases-loaded walk.
Ramos had a double, two singles, and two runs scored. His two-bagger started the big five-run second inning for the JetHawks.
Trey Killian (10-7) had his scoreless innings streak come to an end in the opening frame, when he allowed a two-out RBI double to Austin Byler. The streak, the longest for any JetHawk this season, was 20.2 innings.
Killian allowed a two-run homer to Jorge Flores in the second, but then settled in. The right-hander retired eight of the next nine hitters he faced and tossed six strong innings to earn the win.
Wilson Soriano increased Lancaster’s lead to 6-2 with an RBI double in the fourth inning. With the JetHawks leading 6-4 entering the eighth, Chris Rabago provided an insurance run with an RBI single.
After Marc Magliaro followed Killian’s outing with two scoreless innings out of the Lancaster bullpen, Scott Griggs was summoned for the save. The right-hander put runners on first and second with nobody out, but retired the next three on a pop out and two strikeouts to close out the game. It was his second save in as many opportunities.
The three-game series concludes on Thursday night at The Hangar, as the JetHawks go for the sweep. Right-hander Jesus Tinoco (8-4) will start for Lancaster against right-hander Sam Lewis (1-1). First pitch is 6:35 p.m.

We need a team right here in SCV. I love going to Jet Hawk games, but it would be even better if we had a team.
