2000 - Historic Larinan house in Pico Canyon burns down [story]
Larinan house burning

A suspected carjacker from Santa Clarita allegedly caused a wrong-way crash on the 210 freeway Monday, killing one person and injuring several others.

Officials from the California Highway Patrol say the incident began when the suspect, Nicole Thibault, 28, of Santa Clarita, stole a truck in San Bernardino, with a 2-year-old in the back seat.

Thibault later dropped off the child near Temple and H Streets in San Bernardino. The child was found safe.

“From that point on, we don’t know where she got on the freeway,” said Officer Rodrigo Jimenez, CHP public information officer. “We started receiving phone calls to our CHP dispatch of a wrong-way driver traveling westbound on the eastbound lanes of State Route 210. Reports were she was traveling in within the center median at a high rate of speed.”

The suspect’s car later veered left into oncoming traffic and hit four other vehicles, killing one of the drivers involved.

Although there were prior reports that a pursuit had ensued, there was never a pursuit that had been initiated, Jimenez said.

Thibault was transported to Pomona Valley hospital where she is being treated for major injuries.

Jimenez said no arrest or charges have been made due to the suspect still being hospitalized.

So far, officials have not been able to determine if drugs or alcohol were involved.

“When she was transported, we did not have the opportunity to check for impairment,” Jimenez said. “We want to talk to her before she’s released. We want to look at everything that we have. But she’s not going anywhere.”

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Baldwin Park CHP, at (626) 338-1164.

This person had lived here. This is another bs headline by this hack job of a news source. The carjacking was in riverside and yes she crashed taking a life. These misleading headlines making it sound like the crime was in Santa clarita are bs.

Just pull the plug on her . She stole someone’s car, tossed a baby to the side and went head on down the freeway the wrong way killing someone. Sounds to me she doesn’t value her life nor anyone else’s so lets do her a favor and everyone else and put her down like the animal she is.

  5. Me says:
