News flash weed is legal in California. How about getting the heroin off street?
Awesometown. Who cares about weed? Heroin is the real problem!!
Heroin is the next drug they will push after their customers are hooked on pot. It’s a gateway drug. If it’s legal, why are their drug dealers selling to our residents, especially our kids!
Shirley E Vercelli Gateway smateway. Ive heard this argument before. An addict will find drugs no matter what. I find alcohol much more destructive than weed!
Shirley E Vercelli The drug dealers as you call them are selling weed because places like awesometown dont make it available. Probably because of religious beliefs.
People like Shirley E Vercelli smh
Shirley E Vercelli omg you’re one of those smart drug experts
Shirley E Vercelli It’s a friggen plant people with a gazillion benefits.,
Exactly and it’s mostly a white epidemic in Santa Clarita. So the police not so great! Weed might help them cut down on opioids
Debbie Middleton the oils do have benefits I understand for some people, even some babies, BUT not smoking it and that’s what you are defending and I’m against!! It’s worse for the lungs then cigarettes and it is addictive and a gateway drug for addicts, PERIOD!
Roy Gosen and then heroin! An addict is an addict and they don’t stop at pot!!
Keith Dill we don’t want it sold here or smoked here either. Gonna keep our town awesome as long as possible. No sanctuary bs either. Deport Illegals, cut off welfare and require I.d. To vote!
Shirley Vercelli let’s take a vote and see how many want pot here….oops, we already did that. Pot is legal. If you want to get rid of a real killer besides opioids, get rid of alcohol….drunk driving…alcoholism
Shirley E Vercelli
What about all the junkies getting free methadone in newhall? Supplied by the the Tax payers.
I lived scv for 50years. That place is a cesspool. Of illegal drugs and prostitution!
Keith Dill excuses, excuses. You smoke it you’re a drug user. Life is good without crutches under the guise of “it’s no big deal”
Shirley E Vercelli you assume i use it.
I hope you and your loved ones stay healthy and never need a crutch!! Of any kind.
Oh no it’s the devils lettuce ?
Our Sheriff’s Department works really hard to get drugs of any sort off our streets! Hooray for this bust!
Heroin and prescription drugs are the real problem
Mike Bench all drugs are the problem, alcohol included. All I’m saying is, after spending 8 weeks learning about everything our Sheriffs department and officers do, they work really hard to get drugs off our streets!
Hooray drive 10 min to the valley go into the shop and buy whatever you want
oh my god who cares
Not you! Need I say more.
lol what does that mean
Bruce Lott he’s saying you’re a pothead loser with no vision beyond yourself. You value stupidity.
Bruce, the parents of kids on heroin that started with pot! Wake up, it’s an addictive, gateway drug!!
Hey Shirleyy Vercelli, wake up and smell the marijuana. Pot does not cause cancer. How many people have died from smoking pot….ZERO. That’s from a study George W.Bush’s administration paid for then tried to quash because the findings showed pot to be less harmful then ALL other recreational substances. Old morays and government brainwashing want you to believe pot is bad.
Yep he’s the future of our country lol
lol yall are cranky and quick to make assumptions. have a nice day ??
William Reel I think you’ve never lived in a condos that the neighbors are beyond reasonable Big Phama is a joke drunk
Go bust a meth house you cowards.
More Cops are injured during traffic stops, you Moran
Brandon – Your State is loosing sooooooo much tax revenue by folks that are not licensed to sell Marijuana and don’t pay taxes.
Weed is legal assholes get heroin and meth off the streets.
But it’s ok for them to sell it legally and over price make the weed all clones. They can steal while the person who’s trying to get buy is a criminal
Thank you law enforcement for a great job. Talk to any deputy sheriff or police officer and you will learn that marijuana is a gateway to harder drugs. Legalizing marijuana makes zero sense.
Cash is Illegal ?
Good one, Robert Karppinen! Someone should remind them, pot is legal, too. Just need a license to sell
I guess if they were selling beer on the roadside that would be against the law, too.
Work on getting the opioids off the streets. Pot is harmless
Good one, Robert Karppinen! Someone should remind them, pot is legal, too. Just need a license to sell
Isn’t this an illegal arrest? I didn’t read ATF or Federal Officers anywhere. Marijuana is legal to posses in California. How can this arrest be legal (haven’t googled it yet)
I believe you are limited to the amount you can have without a license or medical card.
Correct, you are legally allowed to have 1 ounce of weed with out a medical card
its legal now , but there is a limit u can have on u , but still , leave the pot heads alone
A lot of the people are on this site stating “Weed is legal in California”. This is partially true with regards to the limits on what you are permitted to possess and grow. This article was about two dudes who were driving around with 6 pounds (not ounces) and $6000.00 in cash, not $600.00. It is clear that these two dueche bags were not following the new laws which limits the amount you are permitted to have on your person. They were clearly illegal dealers and LASD did exactly what they should have done.
LASD does not turn a blind eye to the heroin problem here in the SCV, it is also addressed, and they (LASD) are doing everything they can to address the problem.
Those of you getting so defensive about pot / weed evidently need to take a puff and relax.
BTW…All the “revenue” that these cities are supposedly making where pot is sold legally is horse crap!!! The number of people who use a small store front business as a “front” and sell weed illegally behind back doors and downstairs to avoid paying the taxes (aka revenue) seriously out number those who are trying to do it legally.
God i can least say after reading all the comments on this story that for one, nice to see more open minded people and that can acknowledge what drugs should be taken more seriously. Its weed people please get over it already. And secondly..i never comment on anything unless i feel its necessary given how “awesome” people can be in good ol “awesometown” ..now valencians whos minds are so closed off its disgusting..weed or anything that alters a persons mind can be a gateway drug. Marijuana has been proven multiple times the many positive benefits it has for many reasons. Gateway drug now i just dont see it that way exactly. The problem is hardcore drugs. That comment about the methadone clinic and tax payers funding it..well its better it be controlled and a person have a chance to live and recover than to die in thw streets from an od. I personally have never used heroin ever but i have many friends who have and still do. Methadone can save a persons life. Its not the solution but watching anyone withdrawal from heroin is i can only imagine horrible to put it mildly. Before you speak on what i assume a lot of you closed minded people think they know what theyre talking about but you dont have the slightest clue . I could go on all day on this but typing on my cell phone is not my cup of tea. Felt my two cents needed to be said. To the open minded ones thank you period. World needs more open mindedness .
J.
Wow over some weed! Don’t the cops have anything better to do!?
Seriously? Busting drug dealers? What do you think the cops are “supposed” to do?
