As the start of the new school year rolls in, the Castaic Union School District is providing its families an opportunity on Tuesday, Aug. 14 to learn how to engage with their children to help them be more successful.
Author and speaker Tyler Durman will join the district’s “Welcome Back” events at Castaic Middle School to share his wisdom with his innovative talk “What 4 Million Teenagers Wish We Knew,” based on his book “Counterintuitive.”
Parents who have a child enrolled in the Castaic Union School District are encouraged to attend the event, which starts at 5 p.m. with a free grilled hot dog dinner (including chips, cookie and a drink).
Durman’s address is set to start at 6 p.m. A Q&A session will follow.

Free childcare activities will be provided on behalf of the district during the speaking portion.
CUSD faculty and staff members will also have an opportunity to hear Durman speak during the District’s Welcome Back Breakfast.
