Tickets go on sale Monday, Jan. 4, for the city of Santa Clarita’s 23rd Annual Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival, coming April 20-24 to William S. Hart Park and other locations in Old Town Newhall.
The sights, sounds and swagger of Cowboy life will be on display at William S. Hart Park on April 23 and April 24 with single-day tickets available for $10 for adults and $7 for kids 12 and under. In addition to the festival, separately ticketed intimate performances at the Canyon Theater Guild and the Repertory East Playhouse include nationally known Western musicians and poets, as well as Bluegrass, Folk and Alt Country musicians.
Admission to William S. Hart Park includes access to performances across the four festival stages, as well as living history entertainers, food vendors, western gear shopping and activities for all ages.
A limited number of $75 VIP packages are also available. Each package includes general admission to the festival at William S. Hart Park, weekend access to the VIP Cantina area which will provide food and beverages, VIP shuttle service to and from the festival, and a “Buckaroo Buck” good for one piece of Cowboy Festival merchandise.
The 2016 Cowboy Festival will feature favorite performers from festivals past, including Hot Club of Cowtown, Don Edwards and Quebe Sisters, as well as a slew of rockin’ newcomers, including James Intveld, The Americans and Ramblin’ Jack Elliot.
On Thursday, April 21, Old Town Newhall’s Main Street will host a free “Wild, Wild West” themed SENSES block party, presented by Galpin Subaru. From 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., the rip-roarin’ event will transform Main Street, complete with live music from bluegrass sensation and Cowboy Festival performer, Old Salt Union, line dancing, trick roping, gourmet food trucks, street performers and exciting themed activities.
That same evening, the Walk of Western Stars will unveil its 2016 inductees, commemorating their contributions to Western entertainment history by immortalizing their names in bronze and terrazzo tile, stamped into the streets of Old Town Newhall. More information about the 2016 inductees will be available in the coming weeks.
Then, the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival kicks off on Saturday, April 23 and continues through Sunday, April 24 at William S. Hart Park and Old Town Newhall. Celebrating 23 years of western fun, the festival will feature top-notch Western music, poetry, entertainment, shopping, games and more.
The 2016 Cowboy Festival will include a mix of attractions, including gold panning and archery, living history exhibits, a mechanical bull, trick ropers and sought-after Western designer fashions.
