Helllllooooo! Please let a copy editor read these before you post. 1. You don’t need “estimated”–preliminary magnitude is subject to revision and understood to be estimated. 2. Seismologists haven’t used the Richter scale in 20 years. It’s usually expressed as “moment magnitude.” They are different scales with different values. 3. “Same vicinity” is redundant.
