Landscapers working outside a condominium complex in west Canyon Country accidentally started a fire that climbed up the corner of the building and burned two units.

Original story:

Fire fighters responded Friday afternoon to a report of a structure fire in Canyon Country.

Firefighters received a call at 1:27 p.m. and were on scene one minute later, according to Inspector Reade of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The call reported fire and smoke showing in multiple units at the condo complex near the intersection of Rue Crevier and Rainbow Glen Drive, just south of Soledad Canyon Road.

Fire officials said the blaze was  confined to two upstairs condominium units.

As of 1:45 p.m., no injuries have been reported and no other structures are threatened.

Knockdown was declared at 1:49 p.m.

A witness told authorities the fire started outside of the complex and then climbed to the upstairs apartments.

The ‘landscapers did it’ theory doesn’t fly. Looks pretty clear to these eyes that the fire started in the upper level.

  20. Big ass law suit against them . If this is true .

  21. There was just a fire there at the complex last year. The HOA raised the dues $30 due to an increase in fire insurance. Here comes another increase or possibly a cancellation of the policy. Say it isn’t so. What’s the word Ilene Wallach Scandlyn?

  22. Grace Sobers says:

    Thanks Vanessa Vanessa Arjoon

  23. Karen Layne says:

  24. I love all the people on here who think it’s some kind of conspiracy. Lots of things can catch fire like fertilizer.

These condos have been there for over 25 years. Seems like the reporters would be able to tell the difference between apartment where people rent from condos that people own.
