April 26: New Heights | How I Did It: Artists Share Their Journeys at The MAIN
Time: 7:00 p.m.
The goal of many artists is to find ways to make a successful living while at the same time pursuing their passion. How I Did It: Artists Share Their Journey will feature three artists who have built strong sales of their work, allowing them to devote all of their time to art. This FREE panel of artists will discuss their successful art careers and provide you with some of the strategies that they have used to achieve this level of success. This panel will feature artists Laura Wambsgans, JoAnn Peralta and Toni Haigh.

April 27: CalArts World Music and Dance Festival at California Institute of the Arts

Over the course of one weekend, the 2018 Annual World Music and Dance Festival brings musical traditions from around the world to Southern California. The Herb Alpert School of Music, along with DW Music Foundation and Latin Percussion (LP), presents 15 free outdoor concerts during the festival on the CalArts campus.
New for the 2018 festival is the addition of a second Latin Percussion Stage, doubling the number of performances from years past. The World Music and Dance Festival weekend also features a vendor village with instrument makers, artisans, food trucks and more. And the first 100 people to arrive daily will receive a free, limited edition Chick-ita™ mini maraca from Latin Percussion.
The family-friendly event is free and open to the public, but RSVPs for each day are requested.

The meek floral assistant Seymour Krelborn stumbles across a new breed of plant he names “Audrey II” – after his coworker crush. This foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore promises unending fame and fortune to the down-and-out Krelborn as long as he keeps feeding it BLOOD. Over time, though, Seymour discovers Audrey II’s out-of-this-world origins and intent toward global domination! Book and lyrics by Howard Ashman; music by Alan Menken.
