The community is invited to a free artist panel discussion called “How I Did It: Artists Share Their Journey,” presented as part of the city of Santa Clarita’s New Heights program, taking place on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. at The MAIN.
The goal of many artists is to find ways to make a successful living while simultaneously pursuing their passion. This free panel discussion features three artists: Laura Wambsgans, JoAnn Peralta, and Toni Haigh, who have successfully been able to accomplish that goal. The artists will discuss their art careers and share strategies on how to achieve success. No RSVP is required.
About the Artists
Laura Wambsgans – Native Californian Laura Wambsgans began landscape oil painting 16 years ago, after working as the managing director of a major recording studio and then as a sculptor for two decades. She’s studied with well-respected landscape painters such as Scott Christensen and since 1986, has had her work exhibited nationally in solo and group exhibitions, including at the Riverside Museum and the Huntington Library.
JoAnn Peralta – JoAnn Peralta is a highly sought after fine artist amongst collectors. She has exhibited and sold her fine art for nine years at the prestigious “Masters of the American West Show,” held at the Autry Museum in Los Angeles and has been featured in articles in magazines such as “Art of the West” and “Western Art Collector.” JoAnn has gallery representation in Wyoming, Arizona and Texas.
Toni P. Haigh – Toni P. Haigh’s interest in art, horses and dogs stems from a long family line of noted horsemen and artists including her great uncle, Alfred Grenfell Haigh (1870-1963), who was one of the premier sporting/equine artists of his time. Toni has studied with nationally known artists such as Mehl Lawson and Robert “Shoofly” Shufelt.
