Join the City of Santa Clarita for an “art and beauty” themed Art Walk event this Thursday, April 5 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Main Street, between 6th and Market Streets, in Old Town Newhall, featuring live painting demonstrations, fashion shows, and photo shoots throughout the evening.
Several businesses are participating in this month’s themed event, including: FRESH Lifestyle Boutique, which will host two fashion shows; the Repertory East Playhouse, where local artist Jane Mick will paint beauty on canvas with the help of a professional model; and OutWest Western Boutique, which will host an art reception to celebrate the works of Donna Weil and her collection of Native American and Southwestern Art.
Next door to the Repertory East Playhouse, enjoy retro fashion and photography while watching a Rockabilly-themed photo shoot in progress, starring local pin-up models posing in front of a vintage motorcycle and hotrod.
Art enthusiasts will also enjoy a car-part exhibit, showcasing a unique 1960’s Volkswagen Beatle, which has been sawed in half and painted by local artist Steve Jasik. Models participating in Art Walk will fill the Volkswagen for an artistic photo opportunity at 7:00 p.m.
Make dinner plans with the gourmet food truck, “Baby’s Badass Burgers,” whose chefs will put their culinary art skills to work on burgers and other American favorites. While eating, listen to the tunes of musician Gina Roodes and watch artist Pablo Cevallos complete a masterpiece live on the street.
