A few tickets are left for the Friends of Hart Park’s exciting and entertaining “Silents Under the Stars” fundraiser at William S. Hart Park in Newhall on Saturday, August 11 starting at 6 p.m.
“The Toll Gate,” a 1920 silent film featuring William S. Hart starring as Black Deering, with his faithful pinto pony Fritz, will be accompanied live by the talented Ray Lowe on piano.
Catch the scene where Hart and Fritz nearly died during the production. Fritz nearly drowned during the making of the picture when he slipped and fell underwater in a swift-moving river inside a cave.
“The Toll Gate” was an original Hart production co-written by his sister, Mary Ellen Hart.
Enjoy great musical entertainment by The Grateful Dudes Cowboy Band.

The Rattler’s BBQ dinner at 7 p.m. will be mouthwatering as usual.
The silent auction is one of the main reasons for this event. All funds raised support the maintenance of the park grounds, the Hart Mansion and all buildings as well as the care and feeding of barnyard animals, American Bison, and the latest addition of five beautiful Alpaca.
For those of you who have not seen the Hart Mansion recently, the tour starting at 6 p.m. is a must.
SCVTV’s “SCV in the Movies” hosts E.J. Stephens and Bill West will host the evening’s events.
Tickets are available at $50 per person or reserve a table of 10 for $500.
Attendees will check in at Hart Hall and be shuttled up the hill to the Hart Mansion.
Visit www.friendsofhartpark.org or call 661-222-9542 for reservations.
