Fran Pavley
The City of Santa Clarita will accept a Sustainability Award from California State Sen. Fran Pavley on Wednesday, Aug, 5, at 10 a.m. under the solar bus canopies at the Transit Maintenance Facility, located at 28250 Constellation Road.
Each month, Pavley recognizes a business, person or organization in California’s 27th State Senate district dedicated to the preservation of the environment. This month, the City of Santa Clarita will be recognized for its extensive green efforts, including sustainable building practices used in the development of facilities such as the Transit Maintenance Facility and the Old Town Newhall Library, environmental events such as Earth Arbor Day and River Rally, drought-friendly landscaping practices and other water-saving efforts.
“Protecting the environment for our residents and for our future generations is a top priority for the City of Santa Clarita. The City has been dedicated for several years in supporting green living and building practices, such as the development of the Transit Maintenance Facility, and we are honored to be recognized for our efforts,” said Mayor Marsha McLean.
Following the award ceremony, Transit Manager Adrian Aguilar will escort the Senator on a brief tour of the Transit Maintenance Facility and discuss its sustainable features.
