Castaic and Val Verde, Zone 2

There were eight Part 1 Crimes in Zone 2 this past week.

One commercial burglary was reported at Castaic Middle School.  Suspects entered a class room through a window and vandalized the contents.  The school estimated the damage at $1,500.

There were 7 thefts from vehicles reported throughout the Castaic area.  One vehicle had the window smashed to gain entry, and six were left unlocked.  Miscellaneous personal items were reported stolen.  Four of the reported thefts were on Heather Lane at the top of Sloan Canyon. One was reported off of Highland Court and one on Victoria Road.  All seven thefts were reported in the early morning hours.

Please remember to close and lock your doors, and never leave valuables in plain view in your vehicle.  Minimize your risk and avoid being the victim of a crime of opportunity.  If you see any suspicious activity, call the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at (661) 255-1121 or 9-1-1 in an emergency.
