Castaic and Val Verde, Zone 2

Public Safety and Crime Prevention Information

There were five Part 1 Crimes in Zone 2 this past week. Two residential burglaries were reported in Val Verde. Both victims said their front doors were kicked in and jewelry was stolen. Detectives from Santa Clarita station have a male adult in custody for one of the crimes and are investigating the second.

There was one reported grand theft off of Hillcrest Parkway in Castaic. A construction company reported a generator, cement cutter and various tools stolen from their work site.

There were two thefts from vehicles reported in the Castaic area. Both vehicles were left unlocked. After rummaging through the vehicle the suspect stole miscellaneous personal items.

Please remember to close and lock your doors, and never leave valuables in plain view in your vehicle. Minimize your risk and avoid being the victim of a crime of opportunity. If you see any suspicious activity, call the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at (661) 255-1121 or 9-1-1 in an emergency.
