The following is an open letter from Andrew T. Kugler, chariman of the board of Tierra del Sol, a nonprofit organization that matches developmentally disabled adults with workplace opportunities.
Steve Miller
Tierra del Sol is preparing for its first leadership change in decades. After 24 years of dedicated service, our fearless leader, Steve Miller, will be retiring in June. We all know Steve is an exceptional person and leader. Under his stewardship, our organization has prospered, providing opportunities for thousands of people to grow and enjoy good lives. In the coming months, I hope you will join me in properly recognizing Steve for his many contributions to Tierra by attending an upcoming event in his honor (stay tuned for details) or just saying thanks if you see him on campus.
I also want you to know that selecting the next leader of Tierra has been the Board’s highest priority for some time. For more than a year, we have worked earnestly to identify the skills and, more importantly, the character and values our next CEO must possess. So, it is with great pride and joy to announce that we have found that person in Tierra’s very own
Rebecca Lienhard
.
Rebecca has served Tierra clients and families for 23 years. She has worked in every capacity from direct support to her current role as Associate CEO, and is widely known and respected within the disability field. Rebecca exemplifies the character and values that define Tierra, and is supremely qualified to take on the CEO role. We are fortunate that Rebecca also has the support of a team of dedicated and talented program leaders who will continue to guide our organization.
The Board is committed to working with Rebecca to achieve even more success for the people we serve. Our future is indeed bright! I invite you to join us in this important and exciting journey.
