The driver of a car killed in a collision with a big rig on The Old Road Tuesday has been identified by CHP officials as Timothy Wise, 29, of Stevenson Ranch.
On Tuesday at approximately 6:05 a.m., the California Highway Patrol’s Los Angeles Communication Center began receiving 911 calls of a big rig and car collision on The Old Road south of Weldon Canyon.
Wise was driving a 2017 Infiniti Q60 southbound on The Old Road, approaching a three-axle Freightliner truck.
Willie Richardson, 54, a resident of Lancaster, was backing the Freightliner in a southeasterly direction, attempting to parallel park the truck on the east side of The Old Road.
Preliminary reports show Wise traveling at a high rate of speed before impact, and the front of his vehicle collided with the front of the big rig.
After the collision, life-saving measures were performed on Wise by CHP and LA County Fire, but he died of his injuries at the scene.
Richardson sustained minor injuries and was transported by AMR to Henry Mayo Memorial Hospital.
