[KHTS] – The College of the Canyons baseball team opens the California Community College Athletic Association playoffs against East LA College today.
COC is the No. 18 seed in the Southern California Regional. The Cougars have a 19-16-1 overall record.
East LA is the No. 15 seed and has a 23-13 record.
The two teams met in the first game of the season in January. COC won 3-2.
The College of the Canyons softball team opens the California Community College playoffs on Saturday against College of the Desert.
COC won the Western State Conference Blue Division championship for the third year in a row.
They Lady Cougars are the No. 14 seed in the playoffs. Desert is the No. 3 seed.
Teams play a three-game series in the opening round of the Southern California Regional. All three games will be played at College of the Desert in Palm Desert.
In golf, Valencia High graduate Alison Lee won the Pac 12 Individual Championship by three strokes at the Trysting Tree Golf Club in Oregon.
Lee, a freshman at UCLA, shot a 5-under 211 in the three-round tournament. She was 3-under in the final round.
Lee is the fourth player from UCLA to win the Pac 12 individual title and the fourth freshman in a row to win the individual championship.
