Tickets are now on sale for a variety of shows taking place in September at The MAIN, located at 24266 Main Street in Old Town Newhall.
Comedy Mashup is a group of working comedians and improvisers from all over Los Angeles that come together once a month to put on a show that is half stand-up comedy and half improv.
Headliner K-von is the star of MTV’s hit show “Disaster Date,” and his comedy has received rave reviews on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing,” Netflix and Showtime, to name a few. K-von has garnered millions of views online with sketches, standup comedy clips and a viral TED Talk.
The show is Friday, Sept. 7, at 8 p.m., and is geared toward an adult audience. Tickets are $12 presale and $18 on the day of the show.
The Society Comedy Troupe is bringing hilarious and energetic team improv to The MAIN. Similar to the TV show “Whose Line Is It Anyway,” they ask for audience participation while creating improvised music, comedy and scenes.
The show is Saturday, Sept. 8, at 8 p.m., and is appropriate for all ages. Tickets are $12 for seniors and students and $15 for all others.
“Uncommon Women and Others,” presented by Crow’s Nest Productions, eavesdrops on the bittersweet reunion of five women, six years after their graduation. Flashing back to their senior year at the liberal arts college, Mount Holyoke, the diverse young women relive how their new awareness of feminism and the sexual revolution shaped their career goals, dating experiences and identities, at the start of the 1970’s Women’s Liberation Movement.
As seen through vignettes that are touching, cynical and often funny, these unforgettable women’s “uncommon” attitudes remain as forward-thinking and relevant as ever.
Performance dates and times are Sept. 14 and 15 at 8 p.m. and September 16 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $18 for seniors and students and $20 for adults.
“Surviving the Ride – A One Woman Show,” by Christine Blackburn, tells heartfelt and hilariously woven stories about growing up with no rules, becoming a flight attendant, the ups and downs of the airline industry, her journey to and thru the Peace Corps and facing death head-on.
The performance date is Friday, Sept. 21, at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.
Olive Branch Theatricals presents a fun-filled, interactive new twist on one of your fairy tale favorites, “Little Red Riding Hood,” as she skips through the dark and dingy forest followed by….well you will have to wait and see.
This show is appropriate for all ages and a howling good time will be had by all. Performance dates and times are Sept. 28 at p.m., Sept. 29 at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., and Sept. 30 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12.
