This is the Newhall, Zone 6, Public Safety and Crime Prevention Information for the week of April 2 – April 8.
The following crimes are currently being investigated by Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station detectives:
04/02/18, Monday
Grand Theft – 20900 Placerita Canyon Rd., Newhall
Person(s) unknown stole the victim’s 2006 Ford 550 pickup, white in color, while parked at the business. The vehicle was located a short distance from where the vehicle had been parked.
04/04/18, Wednesday
Burglary – 20900 Via Estrella, Newhall
Person(s) unknown forced entry into the victim’s locked garage and stole numerous tools.
04/04/18, Wednesday
Grand Theft – 25000 Peachland Ave., Newhall
Person(s) unknown stole the victim’s 1995 Nissan Pathfinder, red in color. The vehicle was later located in the Saugus area.
04/08/18, Sunday
Burglary – 21600 Cleardale St., Newhall
Person(s) unknown forced entry into the victim’s locked vehicle and stole the victim’s purse containing numerous credit cards and miscellaneous items.
04/08/18, Sunday
Grand Theft – 23600 Meadowridge Dr., Newhall
Person(s) unknown stole the victim’s 2008 Chevy Tahoe, 4 door, white in color, while parked at the location.
04/08/18, Sunday
Grand Theft – 25000 Peachland Ave., Newhall
Person(s) unknown stole the victim’s 1997 Chevy Astro Van, white in color. The vehicle was later located in the Newhall area.
It can take seconds for a thief to steal something from your car, so never leave valuables inside. Most vehicle crime is preventable. Don’t make your car a target for thieves by leaving such sought after items such as purses, wallets, lap top computers and cell phones in plain view. Always check you have closed all your windows and locked the doors before leaving your car unattended. While there’s no surefire way to totally prevent your car from being broken into keeping these tips in mind can make your car less of a target.
