Two thefts were on the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Station’s crime information and public safety report for Castaic/Val Verde (Zone 2) for the week of November 13-19:

11-13-17
Theft – 28000 block of Gold Hill Drive
The victim reported a “Husky” toolbox stolen from the bed of his truck. The box and its contents were valued at $1,200. The crime occurred during the daytime hours.

11-18-17
Theft – 27000 block of Hartford Avenue
The victim reported miscellaneous items stolen from their vehicle during the early morning hours.

Remember, in any community, the citizens are the first set of eyes and ears for first responders. It is the community who knows what does and doesn’t look right. It is you, the local citizens, who can tell who does and doesn’t belong in the area. If you see any suspicious activity, something that doesn’t look right, please call the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at 661-255-1121 or 9-1-1 in an emergency.

Please be aware that many of the thefts we have seen in the past have been crimes of opportunity. Never leave valuables in plain view in your vehicle, close and lock your doors. Minimize your risk of becoming a victim.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding Zone 2 (Castaic or Val Verde), please feel free to email or call me directly.
