The new year is here for CSUN students and with it comes the start of spring semester. Weekday classes begin Tuesday, Jan. 22. Saturday and Sunday classes begin Jan. 26 and Jan. 27.
Here are some important dates to take note of for spring semester:
Jan. 14: Spring 2019 financial aid balance checks are mailed or deposited via eRefund, starting today.
Jan. 21: Campus closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Jan. 21: Final day for nonrestrictive registration. Maximum load is 17 units.
Jan. 22-Feb. 8: Adjustment of schedules (add, drop, etc.) online.
Jan. 22-27: Wait-listing continues through Sunday, Jan. 27. Permission is not required to add classes (except for restricted classes).
Jan. 28-Feb. 8: Permission is required to add ALL classes. Wait-listing is no longer available.
Feb. 8: Last day to add with permission, drop or change grading basis (CR/NC) online, using self-service registration.
Feb. 11-15: Formal approvals are required, using 4th Week Change of Schedule Petition.
Feb. 15: Last day to file 4th Week Change of Schedule Petition — before 4 p.m.
Feb. 18: Withdrawal deadline. A grade of “W” will be issued after this date.
Feb. 18-April 19: Late Change in Academic Schedule (.pdf) form required for withdrawals.
March 13-14: GradFest 2019 at CSUN Campus Store Complex. Graduating Matadors, make sure to attend GradFest in order to receive the latest news about Commencement 2019 and guest tickets, order your cap and gown, take a free portrait and more.
March 18-24: Spring Break. No instruction.
March 31: No instruction for Sunday classes.
April 1: Campus closed for Cesar Chavez Day.
April 22-May 24: Withdrawals — Last 20 percent of Instruction and Retroactive Change in Schedule for Undergraduate Students form required.
May 10: Last day of formal instruction.
May 11-17: Final examinations.
May 11: Honors Convocation.
May 17-20: Commencement Ceremonies. Find dates and times for specific colleges here.
May 24: Instructors’ grades due. Last day of 2018-19 academic year.
May 27: Campus closed for Memorial Day.
