Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies arrested a man suspected of stealing a bicycle in Canyon Country Wednesday, station officials reported Friday.
Here’s the story from the station’s social media:
“It may be National Bike Month, but DON’T take other people’s bikes.
“On Sunday afternoon, May 13, deputies responded to a shopping center parking lot on the corner of Valencia Blvd/Del Monte Drive for a stolen bicycle report.
“The victim, an adult male, had his bike secured with a bike lock, but when he came out, the lock had been cut and the bike was gone.
“At the time, deputies searched the surrounding area but were unable to locate the bike.
“But, our deputies have good memories. So flash forward to Wednesday — a deputy was patrolling in Canyon Country, passing by fast food restaurants between Whites Canyon and Sierra Highway when his Superman vision spotted a bike that was exactly the same color as the one stolen Sunday.
“He checked it out — sure enough, it was the stolen bike.
“The deputy made contact with the suspect riding the bike, a 26-year-old male adult, and arrested him on charges of receiving stolen property.”
