Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies rescued a suicidal man from a Canyon Country bridge on Thursday night, station officials reported.
Here’s more of the story from the station’s social media:
“Around 10:15 p.m., deputies responded to the Whites Canyon bridge that overlooks the Santa Clara (River) wash. Motorists had called 911 to report that a man was climbing the concrete wall of the bridge.
“Two deputies approached the distraught man. A deputy immediately engaged the man in conversation and learned that the man wanted to end his life over family problems.
“As the two deputies kept the man in conversation, two other deputies quietly approached. One of the approaching deputies quickly pulled (the man) off the edge and onto the sidewalk.
“The man was safely transported for mental health emergency treatment.”
