Samuel Dixon Family Health Center, Inc. has announced the unfortunate cancellation of its 17th Annual Duck Dash – Rubber Ducky Festival on Saturday due to the rapidly growing fires and poor air quality.
“It is very unfortunate that we have to make this announcement because our rubber duck event has been part of our community for the last 17 years,” said Philip Solomon, SDFHC CEO. “Many look forward to our one of a kind event to enjoy all the festivities and watch thousands of ducks race down the waterway. The health and safety of our employees, vendors and community is our highest priority.”
Although the event has been canceled, the planning of a rubber duck race is in the works to identify the grand prize winners who will be contacted by a representative of the agency.
“All of us at Samuel Dixon Family Health Centers would like to extend our appreciation to all our adoptees, participants, volunteers, vendors, sponsors and community for their ongoing support of our annual fundraiser. Please know that your contributions for this year’s event will go directly toward families in need of healthcare, dental and behavioral health services,” Solomon said.
SDFHC thanks our sponsors who support our mission to serve our community: The Henry Mayo Newhall Foundation-Title Sponsor, Mission Valley Bank, Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, Mission View High School, Logix, First Presbyterian Church, Presto Pasta, Mission Renaissance, Starbucks, Hilton Garden Inn, Salon Centric, Mad Cap Balloons and Annnd Action Photo Booth.
