UPDATE: Friday 5 p.m. County fire officials report the Towsley Fire is 80 percent contained and held to 50 acres burned.
UPDATE: 9 p.m. Fire officials are reporting that the fire is now at 50 acres and 65 percent contained. Fire officials are planning to work throughout the night to fight the fire.
UPDATE: 5:40 p.m. The Towsley Fire is now at 50 percent containment with crews working through the night.

UPDATE: 4:40 p.m. The fire is holding at 20 acres with 20 percent containment and forward progress stopped.
UPDATE: The Towsley Fire is now at 20 acres with 10 percent containment.
Also, there was no outbuilding destroyed as reported earlier. What was lost were paintball obstacles.
UPDATE: 3:40 p.m. #KHTSNews was on scene while one man was taken into custody near where the fire started, across The Old Road from Field of Fire Paintball Adventures.

Deputies on scene indicated the man was being detained with respect to the investigation into the Towsley Fire, but officials have not confirmed whether the man is suspected of causing the fire.
The man taken into custody was a white male in his 20s.
No other information is being released at this time with respect to the investigation.

UPDATE: 3:20 p.m. – The fire is now at 8-10 acres with 15 structures along the Old Road potentially threatened, fire officials said.
The Old Road Post Office and paintball facility have been evacuated, according to a tweet by Santa Clarita Sheriff’s officials.
Los Angeles County Fire Department officials are responding to a brush fire reported at the 23900 block of the Old Road in Newhall, south of Calgrove near Towsley Canyon, at 1:39 p.m., officials said.
The fire is reported to be at three to five acres as of shortly before 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 13. One outbuilding is said to be involved.
There is no further information at this time.
