[KHTS] – The 2014 7th Annual Citrus Classic Balloon Festival is preparing to light up the summer sky with hot air balloons and great entertainment in Santa Paula July 25 and 26.

The festival, being held on East Telegraph Road off of Highway 126, will feature eight filled acres of special attractions including prime seating dinner options, the Vintage Trailer Village, the Glow N Show Car Show, live music, Glow Dance Party and more. Overhead, there will be fly-bys by historic biplanes, aerobatic stunts, sky writers, sky divers, and of course—hot air balloons.

“We call it a mini Albuquerque, right in your own backyard of Santa Clarita,” festival founder Carla Edwards said. “So you just step out just a few minutes down the highway, and you’ve got mini Albuquerque. You’ve saved many tanks of gas.”

citrusclassic072514On Friday night, VIP seating on the field is available with a Sunset Wine Dinner by DJ’s California Catering, People Choice’s Caterer of the Year.

On Saturday night, Firestone Walker is providing Award-Winning beers, four pairings with a four-course gourmet dinner, and dessert at the Craft Beer Dinner.

Beer, wine or whatever is your pleasure will be available for your enjoyment, Edwards said. But, the best experience will be having a memorable dinner out there on the field looking at all the hot air balloons.

New this year is the Vintage Trailer Village.

“They’re gorgeous vintage trailers, lovingly restored by their owners,” Edwards said. “ And, each one of them usually has a theme.”

The Vintage Trailer Village will feature themed Airstream, Inlands, Teardrop, and Shasta trailers.

We have one that actually has a cowboy theme and one that has a family-friendly bordello theme, Edwards said. There will be a lot of different things in the Vintage Trailer Village and each of the trailers will be retro.

Glow N Show Car Show

The Glow N Show Car Show hosts 200 cars. All makes and models are welcomed. The show is from 2-7 PM. And, the air show comes through overhead at 5 PM.

The Citrus Classic Balloon Festival is accepting volunteers to join balloon crews to lay out the silks and inflate the balloons. Volunteer as an individual, with family or friends, or as a corporate team for a fun team-building exercise.

Tickets

For Friday, tickets are $12 for Adults, $5 for ages 6-14, and children 5 and under get in for free.

For Saturday, tickets for adults are $15.

On Saturday night, there’ll be a Glow Dance Party when the balloons are finished glowing.

“Come and discover what we’ve got new this year. And, we’d love to host you at the Hot Air Balloons,” Edwards said.
