Midnight Saturday, June 15 is the entry deadline to join the Santa Clarita Valley Fourth of July Parade without having to pay a late fee.
The final entry deadline is midnight Saturday, July 22.
The Independence Day event is a nearly 90-year-old community tradition with thousands of participants and spectators celebrating on streets of Old Town Newhall.
The Santa Clarita Valley Fourth of July Parade is put on annually by a small nonprofit committee that includes veterans, City Council members, teachers and patriotic community members.
The parade begins at 9 a.m. at the roundabout at Newhall Avenue and Main Street. It runs north on Main Street and then makes a left onto Lyons Avenue. Then it hangs a right onto Orchard Village Road, ending at 16th Street.
“This annual tradition is so important for our community, and for our nation, to celebrate our freedom and all of the people who have dedicated their lives to protecting, strengthening, and sharing that freedom,” said Linda Storli, president of the Fourth of July Parade Committee.
Anyone is welcome to submit an entry. From scout troops to clubs, nonprofit organizations to businesses, the Santa Clarita Valley Fourth of July Parade is the perfect way to market your business or organization while celebrating patriotism.
All of the local media (SCVTV Community Media Center, SCV Signal Newspaper, KHTS Radio and The Magazine of Santa Clarita) cover the event in their own unique way.
