NORTHRIDGE – CSUN women’s volleyball added another significant piece to its 2019-20 recruiting class as head coach Jeff Stork announced the signing of Taylor Orshoff to a National Letter of Intent.
Orshoff, a 6-1 outside hitter from Martin Luther King High School in Riverside, Calif., is the third player to commit to CSUN in the 2019-20 class.16513
A three position player in high school (MB, OH, OPP), Orshoff was a first team All-Big VIII selection for coaches Kyle Duncan and Sondra Lough in 2018 and 2019. She helped the Wolves 54 wins over her final three seasons and was named Best Offensive Player in both 2017 and 2018. A two-time team captain, she was also named Player of the Match 16 times over the course of her career.
“Taylor will be a great addition to our program,” said CSUN head coach Jeff Stork. “She is an outstanding volleyball player who is converting from a middle blocker to an outside hitter. I believe she’s flying under the radar because she wasn’t developed as a pin hitter until very late, but we think she has a huge upside as an outside hitter. She has height, power and coordination along with the experience of being a middle blocker which on the blocking side is a huge advantage.”
Orshoff, who also plays for Rancho Valley Volleyball Club, joins Taylor Hunter and Magdalena Juric who previously signed with CSUN for 2019-20.
