Starting Tuesday, May 15, the art gallery at The MAIN in Old Town Newhall will showcase “Moncho1929,” an art exhibition showcasing acrylic paintings by artist Moncho.
The exhibition will be on display through Friday, June 15. An art reception for “Moncho1929” will take place on Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at The MAIN. Reception attendees will be able to view the artwork, enjoy light refreshments and meet the artist.
Originally born and raised in New York City, Moncho1929 has lived and worked in London, Italy, Korea and currently in Los Angeles. Through all of these transitions he has continued to be influenced by modern media and the urban artwork surrounding it.
Moncho’s work is continually evolving and his works although seem ever changing, continually evolve through changing narratives based on the series of works and social commentary. He has been a fixture in street art and the gallery world since arriving in Los Angeles in 2001 having shown alongside Shepard Fairey, Mr. Brainwash and many others over the years.
Along with being on various municipality mural rosters, he has had solo and group exhibitions of his works in various galleries in New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Miami and London.
