A Metro PCS Store in Old Town Newhall was burglarized early Wednesday morning, causing approximately $13,000 in damages, according to store officials.
Robert Gonzalez, the store’s manager, said the suspect broke through the glass door at the front of the store, ripped phones from the display counter, stolen phone cases and damaged computers.
“(The suspect) was yanking on the computers,” Gonzalez said. “It looks like (the suspect) wanted to take them, too.”
Deputies do not have any information available regarding a suspect description at the time, but the investigation is still in its preliminary phases.
However, Gonzalez said the store has video surveillance of the incident and that the owner was looking at the footage to pinpoint the exact time the incident occurred, as well as get a description of the suspect.
“The alarm company notified the owner early Wednesday morning that there was a break-in,” Gonzalez said. “That was between 2-3:00 in the morning.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station at (661) 255-1121.
