ARTree Class Series a Success
On October 16th The ARTree completed our fall class series called The Many Faces Of Art, at the Santa Clarita Sports Complex. The classes offered a variety of materials and techniques to help students explore the human face in art. Each class began with a slideshow, providing insight into the artist whose works inspired the day’s lesson. Classes included watercolors, plaster, pastels, collage, mixed media, ink, and even non-verbal facial expression, pictured here.
Monthly Drop-In Art Activity at Old Town Newhall Library Continues
Connecting to our community
On November 7th, ARTree teachers led a project exploring the beautiful colors of Fall leaves. Using a watercolor and a wax resist technique, kids ages 7 and up delighted us with their creations. Many participants were heard requesting to make multiple pieces!
Music to our ears.
ARTree’s drop-in class is held the first Friday of every month from 3 to 4:30pm at the Old Town Newhall Library. Join us in December.
ARTree’s Winter Class: Watercolor with Michael Powell

8th Annual Literacy and Arts Festival coming November 15th
ARTree will be there!
This Saturday at the Old Town Newhall Library, a collaborative festival sponsored by the SCV Education Foundation, will be held from 10am – 3pm. ARTree member Suzanne Ulloa, will be at our booth leading our memory collage activity, with help from the Saugus High Rotary Interact Club.
In its 8th year Santa Clarita’s Literacy & Arts Festival offers the community an opportunity to explore, play, see, create and hear the different forms of arts and literacy. Surrounded by books, guests will be entertained by storytellers that include favorite authors and performers. On hand will be several art activities to let your imaginations run wild, music to enjoy and instruments to explore. Exhibits and interactive demos will highlight ways in which the arts are now being integrated in public schools throughout the Santa Clarita Valley.
