A plan to divide the lot on the Northpark Community Church property, which houses Trinity Classical Academy, is set to go before the Santa Clarita Planning Commission on Tuesday.
Church officials are requesting the 11.39-acre site be divided into 4.6 acres and 6.79 acres, and to “waive the requirement that a parcel map be filed,” according to the agenda report.
The original conditional use permit and master case, filed in 2005, planned for a 121,500-square-foot building to be used for both the church and the private school but the CUP was modified in 2007, changing the one building to three.
The maximum height of the buildings was changed from 65 feet to 50 feet.
One of the three buildings was constructed in 2009, with a floor area of 48,559 square feet. Trinity would “build the balance of the previously approved buildings at a remaining floor area of approximately 72,941 on the site to be used as a private school,” according to the agenda report.
Along with the two new buildings, another driveway is planned to be built.
In July of this year, an application was submitted for a tentative parcel map and was completed in August.
The map waiver is expected to be reviewed by the city and recorded by Los Angeles County’s Recorder’s office. The request does not include any development and any future development would be subject to review.
