Get ready to eat, dance and rock this June as the Thursdays @ Newhall event series, presented by Galpin Subaru, returns with the fourth installments of Art SLAM, J.A.M. Sessions and SENSES.
On Thursday, the most fragrant Art SLAM of the year will showcase one of the culinary world’s most distinctive ingredients: garlic. Chefs from across Santa Clarita will offer FREE samples of their most delectable garlic-infused treats, from garlic bread, hummus and ice cream to mashed potatoes, and Rugelach. The event kicks off at 7:00 p.m. and will continue until 10:00 p.m. Just follow your nose to Main Street and enjoy treats from Vincenzo’s Pizza, Newhall Refinery, Persia Lounge, Bakers Gourmet Coffee and Bakery, Larsen’s Steakhouse, and Napa based Aglio di Mirabella. Attendees can also enjoy several cooking demonstrations, including: Culinary Wonders’ Chef Judy Gilbert who will create her creamy garlic mousse; a 40 clove garlic chicken dish presented by Williams-Sonoma; and shrimp scampi with garlic with Chef Bojorquez of El Trocadero. Stop by Old Town Newhall and spice up the evening with this delicious and flavorful event.
The interactive musical movement J.A.M. Sessions will liven up Main Street on Thursday, June 12 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the moves of Japanese Folk Dance and Music. Christine Inouye will demonstrate how to perform this rhythmic dance with the use of traditional fans as Minyo Station provides the sounds of Japanese folk fusion. This FREE session is presented in partnership with the Ford Theatre Foundation, the James Irvine Foundation and the City of Santa Clarita. To learn more, visit FordJamSessions.org.
Experience the phenomenon of music groups like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Who at the British Invasion themed SENSES on Thursday, June 19 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Rock out to the rebellious tones of young British groups as their music comes to life with the high-energy variety dance band, The Platinum Groove. This free event will also feature street performers and gourmet food trucks, including Slammin’ Sliders, Tainamite and Sweet Arleens.
