Valencia’s Carly Mortensen tossed a no-hitter against Camarillo in the first game of a doubleheader.

She struck out 16 and Valencia beat Camarillo, 15-0. Wendy Cardinal drove in three runs and Rachel Ross-Smith had two RBIs.

But Valencia lost the second game, 6-1. Mortensen struck out nine in five innings in the second game, but didn’t get much offensive support.

Missy Fundora drove in Valencia’s only run in the second game.

In high school baseball, Golden Valley beat Littlerock, 20-2. Billy Fredrick drove in three runs and was 2-for-3 for Golden Valley.

In high school volleyball, West Ranch swept Rio Mesa in three games. Tanner Scabelund had 15 kills for West Ranch.

In high school tennis, the Golden Valley boys beat Canyon, 15-3, sweeping all nine of their doubles sets. Brian Park and Brandon Sen won their sets, 6-2, 7-5, 6-0.

In high school swimming, the Valencia boys beat West Ranch, 95-75. The Valencia girls won, 103-67, over West Ranch.

Tyler Tran won two events for Valencia, the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle races.

Sophie Fiscella won the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle races on the girls side.

In college softball, the College of the Canyons split a doubleheader against Citrus College, the top-ranked team in the state.

COC won the first game, 2-1. Ruby Herrera hit a solo home run in the sixth inning.

But COC lost the second game, 3-1. Amy Droege was 3-for-3 and hit a solo home run in the third inning for COC.

In college baseball, College of the Canyons beat LA Mission, 7-4. Kevin Lenick was 2-for-4 with three RBIs for COC.

The Dodgers beat the Milwaukee Brewers, 7-6, in spring training in Arizona. Andre Ethier continued his hot spring with a two-run home run and drove in three runs. His homer in the sixth inning broke a 3-3 tie.

In hockey, the Kings won their fifth game in a row, 5-2, over the San Jose Sharks. The Kings scored three goals in the third period.

Anze Kopitar had a goal and two assists.

The Kings will try to make it six in a row against the St. Louis Blues on Thursday night.
