[KHTS] – The Santa Clarita Christian baseball team shut out Trinity Classical Academy, 13-0, in the Heritage League opener for both teams.
Santa Clarita Christian, ranked No. 1 in the CIF Southern Section Division 7 poll, scored nine runs in the first inning.
Santa Clarita Christian improved to 7-0 overall. The Cardinals play Albert Einstein Academy on Friday.
In college baseball, the College of the Canyons lost to Citrus College, 9-0, in a Western State Conference game.
Citrus scored five runs in the seventh inning to break open the game.
COC collected only four hits in the game, all singles. David Oppenheim was 1-for-2 with a walk.
The Cougars dropped to 9-4 in conference. They take on LA Valley College on Thursday.
The Master’s College baseball team won both games of a doubleheader against La Sierra University. The Mustangs won the first game, 14-1, and the second game, 7-2.
In college softball, the College of the Canyons swept a doubleheader against LA Valley College. The Lady Cougars won the first game, 11-1, and shut out Valley in the second game, 8-0.
COC is 11-1 in the Western State Conference and 14-12 overall.
