We live in the area of the Tick Fire where homes burned down, and our power had been turned off long before the break out of the fire and evacuation. I would think this would show SCE that constantly turning our power off every time it’s windy does nothing to prevent fires. Especially when a neighborhood below us, also surrounded by hills, is always lit up during our outages. How are we supposed to live like this in an area that is always windy? We’ve lost 100’s of $s of frozen food and can’t store any in the future never knowing how long the power will be out. We have lived in this house for 16 years and this has never been the protocol before- If SCE thinks this is the solution, despite fires proving it’s not, then maybe they should be required to reimburse people for food losses.

I forgot to add to my post that all of our power lines are buried below ground, and no power towers in the area. I only hope Thanksgiving Day doesn’t become windy or I’ll have a partially cooked turkey to throw out in our electric oven, should SCE decide to shutdown the power.
