Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies arrested an Oxnard man suspected of possessing heroin for sale in Saugus on Monday night, station officials said Friday.
Here’s more of the story from the station’s social media:
“It was Christmas in jail for an Oxnard man who was nabbed by SCV Sheriff’s deputies for possession of heroin for sales.
“On Monday, Dec. 24, 2018, around 4:15 p.m., deputies were patrolling near Oak Ridge Drive in Saugus when they came across a vehicle that was flagged as having a $30,000 warrant in the system.
“Deputies made contact with the driver and asked for his driver’s license. He said he didn’t have one because ‘it was suspended.’
“Upon further investigation, deputies found the man to be in possession of a large quantity of U.S. currency and heroin.
“Deputies arrested the driver, Donny Askar, 42, of Oxnard on charges of possession of narcotics for sales and driving on a suspended license.
“Askar was booked at (the) Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail.”
