The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is kicking off its 2015 hiring campaign by hosting the first of many informational seminars for prospective applicants on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015, at STARS Center, 11515 S Colima Road, Whittier, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in classroom K2.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is the largest sheriff’s department in the country and offers opportunities in patrol, custody, court services, transit policing, investigations, cybercrimes, SWAT, search and rescue, mounted enforcement, marine enforcement, and many other unique and specialized assignments. The many career opportunities available coupled with the Department’s large jurisdictional area and responsibilities, truly makes the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department unique in the law enforcement industry.
The seminar will consist of three components:
1. An overview of the nation’s largest Sheriff’s Department and the many employment opportunities the Department has to offer.
2. An in depth explanation of the background investigative process:
• Written examination
• Physical agility test
• Background interview
• Polygraph
• Medical examination
• Psychological evaluation
3. Applicants will also be provided with information on how to best prepare for successfully completing the rigorous demands of the Sheriff’s Training Academy.
