Sheriff’s officials are investigating a shooting Tuesday where a suspected gang member was shot after a confrontation in Newhall.
The confrontation reportedly occurred outside the victim’s residence on the 25000 block of Walnut Street around 10:30 p.m.
A vehicle drove by the residence several times, and then after words were exchanged, several parties opened fire.
The investigation is in its preliminary phases, and detectives did not release any suspect information or information regarding the suspect’s vehicle. Deputies are still investigating whether the victim returned fire or if there were multiple assailants firing from the vehicle.
Deputies recovered multiple shell casings at the scene of the shooting.
The victim is being treated for non-life threatening injuries at a local hospital.
No suspect has been arrested at this time.

We need to turn this city around before it turns into the valley. Judges need to be harsh instead of slaps on the wrist. The couple that robbed the Hobby Lobby and then shot a paintball gun at officers got 3 years probation. WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!Should have been 3 years in jail.

We saw the cop cars from this on Tuesday night – its only like 2 blocks away from our house. So scary!
