For the third time, thieves have broken into Nealie’s Skillet restaurant in Valencia and stolen from what the owner calls his heart and his life.
At 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, thieves smashed the front door of the family business.
Neal Scott described the impact the latest break-in had on him and his family in a post on social media.
He wrote on Facebook: “We are so saddened. This is our heart, our life we put in every day.
“This was our dream to own a business. Once again our dreams are being broken by a selfish individual,” he wrote. “If you see this guy report it immediately. He was on foot.”
Deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the break-in, said Shirley Miller, station spokeswoman.
“The door was smashed in,” she said. “The deputy taking the report said he is trying to figure out what items were taken.”
Nealie’s Skillet is a popular breakfast spot and family-run restaurant on Tournament Road that opened in January 2016.
In January 2018, the business was startled by a break-in at 1 a.m.
The burglar — captured on surveillance video — fled to a nearby getaway car, per security footage from the area.
Anyone with information about any of the break-ins to Nealie’s can call the SCV Sheriff’s Station at 661-255-1121.
