The Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library is proud to present a free event on Thursday, Oct. 9, starting at 7 p.m. featuring Karen Mack and Jennifer Kaufman, co-authors of the sensational book “Freud’s Mistress.” The author event will take place at the Valencia branch, located at 23743 W. Valencia Boulevard.
In the thrilling story of Sigmund Freud’s secret love affair, Mack and Kaufman skillfully blend fact and fiction, creating a compelling portrait of a young woman struggling to reconcile her love for her sister with her desire for her sister’s husband, the famous psychoanalyst. Set in late 1800 Viennese society, the sweeping tale of seduction, betrayal and loss has garnered rave reviews from fans of similar books like Memoirs of a Geisha and The Other Boleyn Girl.
Books will be available for purchase, along with opportunities for signings, and light refreshments will be served.
The Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library is an active group of Santa Clarita residents who volunteer, advocate and fundraise to meet the needs of the Santa Clarita Public Library.
