The City of Santa Clarita’s Thursdays@Newhall series, presented by Galpin Subaru, continues in July with its fifth installment of the 2015 season.
From 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, ArtSLAM will feature live spray paint artwork from local artist Pablo Cevallos, plus ceramic art demos from the Ceramic Artist Studio, Inc. CASI. Participants can also create one of a kind artwork with Forge Ahead Arts, featuring monotype prints of moths and bugs.
At 7:30 p.m. participants can take part in JAM Sessions, hosted by Ford Theatre Foundation, with a rhythmic evening of drum circles led by Christopher Ramirez.
Revved Up from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, will feature Imports, tuner and modified import vehicles including body kits and sound systems. Local residents interested in submitting an automobile for consideration in Revved Up can apply online.
The holidays arrive California-style on Main Street with a Christmas in July block party for SENSES on Thursday, July 16, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Participants can get their jingle on while they groove to current hits and sing along to favorite holiday tunes with The Replicas, and enjoy an evening of holiday themed activities, food trucks, adult beverages and Santa Claus.
The July lineup of Thursday@Newhall events finishes on Thursday, July 23 with the ARTree Speaker Series, presented in partnership with the CalArts Community Arts Partnership and the City of Santa Clarita, and SCVTV Presents The OutWest Concert Series.
From 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. the ARTree Speaker Series will feature Production Designer and Art Director Richard Ramirez, who will speak about his experiences on “Rosanne,” “3rd Rock from the Sun,” “CSI: NY,” and “Switched at Birth” and share why Hollywood loves Santa Clarita locations.
Meanwhile, SCVTV presents the OutWest Concert Series with acoustic musical group, Sidewinder, beginning at 8:00 p.m. at the Repertory East Playhouse located at 24266 Main Street. Tickets can be purchased here.
