Jim Rickard
Soccer coach Jim Rickard of The Master’s College earned his 250th career victory Friday as the Mustangs upset No. 21 University of Texas-Brownsville in a four-team invitational hosted by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona.
Rickard is in his 21st season as the head coach at Master’s and in 2009 led his squad to the national championship game of the NAIA National Tournament. He was also named the Brine-NAIA National Coach of the Year that season. After a 7-6-3 campaign in 2010, Rickard has his program primed to return to prominence.
Over the course of his 20 year head coaching career at his alma mater, Rickard has led the Mustangs to three NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) Championships, three NAIA National Tournaments, and has coached over 20 NAIA All-Americans.
The men’s soccer team returns to action this Friday, Sept. 9, playing host to Westminster (Utah) at 5 p.m. as part of a four-team invitational also featuring Biola University and Holy Names.
