Abigail Frankian
On Thursday at the Bryan Clay Invitational, Abigail Frankian represented The Master’s University women’s track & field program in the third heat of the women’s 5,000m.
The race went out hard, and Frankian competed well among the competitive field of 31 runners. Despite struggling late in the race, Frankian managed to hold on and clock an NAIA “B” standard (17:50.00) qualifying time of 17:44.09.
Frankian has now qualified to compete in two different events (5,000m, 10,000m) for the upcoming 37th Annual NAIA Women’s Outdoor Track & Field National Championships from May 25-27, 2017 at the Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium, Gulf Shores, Alabama.
“Abigail showed a lot of grit in what was a very tough race,” commented TMU track & field head coach Zach Schroeder. “She’s an incredible competitor.”
On Friday, Lady Mustangs, who recently ranked 21st in the nation by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), will wrap up their time at the Bryan Clay Invitational on the campus of Azusa Pacific University.
