Valencia Man Charged with Murder in Death of Boyfriend Found in Closet

From the Facebook Page of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station: A 21-year-old Valencia man was charged with the murder of his boyfriend, Brayan Jose Rodriguez, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Deputy District Attorney Julie Kramer said Christian Alexander Ortiz faces one count of murder.

Ortiz is charged with killing Rodriguez, 20, on Sept. 22. The victim’s body was discovered two days later in Ortiz’s closet.

If convicted as charged, Ortiz faces a possible maximum sentence of 25 years to life in state prison. Bail is set for $2 million.

His arraignment is set for Nov. 16 in the San Fernando branch of L.A. County Superior Court.

The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

    That poor kid. I knew it was the boyfriend when I first heard about it. Me watching Investigation Discovery all the time has really changed the way I see things (in good and bad ways). I had hoped Brayan had been found safe, but once they had interviewed the boyfriend when he first went missing I knew he had something to do with his disappearance. My prayers go out to his family and friends. Brayan was someone’s child, brother, nephew, grandson, and friend, so please be as respectful as you’d want others to be if it were your loved one. <3 #RIPBrayanJoseRodriguez
