[District Attorney] – A Valencia man was sentenced to 26 years in state prison Wednesday for a road rage attack involving a BB gun in Stevenson Ranch.

Cory Allen Flenory, 29, entered no contest pleas on Sept. 14 to one count each of mayhem, assault with a deadly weapon, a BB gun, and injuring a spouse, said Deputy District Attorney Frances Young.

Additionally, Flenory admitted a strike for a 2005 felony conviction in Tulare for kidnapping, robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.

Flenory also was sentenced to an additional eight months in state prison for getting into a fight on July 15, 2015, while in county jail.

The defendant pleaded guilty on Dec. 16, 2015, to one count of assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury.

On May 17, 2014, Flenory cut a couple off in a Walmart parking lot almost causing a collision, the prosecutor said. The driver of the victim’s vehicle became upset and closely followed the defendant as they left the parking lot, according to court testimony.

Flenory then drove up to the right side of the victim’s vehicle as they were stopped at a nearby intersection and shot at the passenger side window, the prosecutor added.

The passenger side window shattered and a piece of glass hit the woman who was sitting on the passenger side, causing her to suffer permanent damage to her eye, according to testimony at the preliminary hearing.

Days prior, on May 5, 2014, the defendant had attacked his wife with a BB gun, the prosecutor said. Flenory’s case was investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Santa Clarita Valley Station.
