The Lady Mustangs’ coaching staff continues to make significant strides in the off-season with the signing of Kelsey Kukaua of Valencia.
Kukaua will enter the Mustangs’ program in the fall of 2013 determined and focused to make an impact on the team. “My goal is to play to the best of my ability and help my team be as successful as possible,” reports the new signee. “With this, I would like to lead and have great influences on our way to winning a league championship.”
And while the current midfielder for the Legends Football Club’s, a division of the Southern California Development League, on-field experience is expected to aid the Lady Mustangs through the entirety of her collegiate career, Kukaua’s academic background makes the new Mustang stand out amongst her peers.
The Lady Mustangs’ newest signee’s academic background includes being a recipient of the Vikings’ scholar athlete award, the AP Scholar award, the Viking Valor award in English, National Society of High School scholars, and a four year member of the Principal’s honor roll, National Honors Society, and the California Scholastic Federation.
As a freshman, Kakaua plans to major in Communication in order to pursue a career in journalism.
“I’m eager to attend The Master’s College and play for the women’s soccer team under the direction of Coach Lewis. After meeting the players and talking with the coach, I’m most looking forward to becoming a part of their close-knit family on and off the field.”
To date, Kukau is the third of five off-season signings that TMC’s women soccer program has inked for 2013.
