The Master’s College men’s soccer program is proud to announce the signing of Zachary Klindworth.
Klindworth, a native of Valencia, California, will bring depth to the forward position for the Mustangs in the fall of 2013.
“We’re real excited to have Zach,” said Mustang head coach Jim Rickard. “He’s a local player that can bring excitement to the program. He’s a solid forward with great quickness and ball handling skills. He shoots well and is going to aid the program with his hard work ethic and quickness. He also has a desire to serve the Lord and grow in the Word. We couldn’t be happier to have him.”
Klindworth enters The Master’s College after completing four years at Valencia High School. Klindworth’s resume includes the following: club soccer since U9 where he eventually played at the Premiere and Academy levels, voted best offensive player at Valencia during the 2012-13 season, and earning All-Foothill League Honors during the same year. Klindworth also helped lead the Vikings to their first-ever league championship during the 2012-13 season, and was voted the Santa Clarita Valley’s Player of the Year by The Signal.
Commenting as to why he chose The Master’s College, Klindworth stated “I chose TMC for a variety of reasons. First, I find that the strong spiritualklindsigns.jpgenvironment will keep me focused on my goals while also pursuing my love for soccer. I am excited to learn about the Bible while training under a top-notch college coach, Jim Rickard.”
As a freshman, Klindworth enters The Master’s College with three simple, yet profound, goals: earn a starting position on the squad, impact every game in his own electric manner, and simply enjoy every minute of training and competing.
While his overarching goal is to pursue a professional career in soccer, Klindworth will also prepare for a career off the field by majoring in Communication.
The Master’s College men’s soccer team went 8-10-1 (4-5-1 GSAC) in 2012, and anticipates a strong 2013 season with the six recruits signed in the offseason.
The Mustangs are slated to open their season August 22 against Jamestown College of North Dakota at the Westminster Tournament held in Salt Lake City, Utah.
